“No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.”
-Dead Poets Society
Welcome to our Jewish Philosophy class blog! Over the course of our year together, you will hear many interesting and powerful ideas and perspectives. The goal of this blog is for you to reflect on these ideas and consider how they are relevant to your lives as Jews today.
Occasionally, I will post a question, article or video for you to comment on for homework or during class. Sometimes, I will ask you to read your friends' posts and choose one to comment on. However, feel free to comment at any point with a question or point about something we discussed in class or anything that can connect to that topic.
· Over the course of the year I will require you to post 2 times per month as well as comment twice on two different people's posts. Posts should be 2-3 paragraphs long and comments should be 1-2 paragraphs long.
- You must make sure to complete your posts on time as they count for your class participation grade. Any late posts will result in points deducted from your final grade.
This blog will allow our class to grow into a community of people who are thinking and reflecting on the topics raised in Jewish philosophy, as well as allow us to share all of our different ideas on the issues that we discuss in class.
